It's only a matter of days now until the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Good Friday Agreement on the 10th of April 1998.

There was a lot of heavy lifting done by a lot of people to make it happen,

but some key individuals shouldered more of the burden than others.

On this week's red lines, we're going to reflect on the contributions made by those crucial dealmakers. Let's just remind

ourselves who some of the key players were. This agreement is good for the people of Ireland,

North and South. We can all win. Indeed, put this agreement into practice, and I believe that we do

all win. It's a day we should treasure a day when

agreement and accommodation have taken the place of difference in division. The

vision and commitment of the participants in the talks has made real the prayers

for peace on both sides of the Atlantic and both sides of the peace line. Very few people are as fortunate as we are to live through a day like this.

I think many people never believe we'd get there.

The people in Northern Ireland have always asked and said,

if only the politicians would sit down together and talk and reach an agreement.

Today we have done it.

We in the Ulster Unionist Party, we rise from this table knowing that the Union is stronger than it was when we sat down.

We as the elected politicians for Sinn Féin will do the business in the course of the coming days and weeks.

We will be in touch with our grassroots. We will consider it in great detail

and then we will make our comprehensive position known to the public.

It's an honorable and decent agreement created by honorable and decent people.

It now transfers to the will of the people.

They have to make the choice.

Don't blame the politicians.
