So much has been written about the Battle of Gettysburg,

and there are lots of movies, books, and TV shows

that commemorate what was thought to be the bloodiest battle

to ever occur during the American Civil War.

On July 1st, 1863, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania is where the Confederate and Union armies clashed

and fought for three long days.

When the smoke cleared, the North had emerged victorious, but the bloodbath

that ensued would forever change American history. Around 50,000 men from both sides perished and thousands of more soldiers lay wounded

waiting to follow the same bitter fate.

Many and perhaps most of these brave individuals were not given a proper burial.

And so now, more than a hundred years later, these troubled souls are rumored to still linger around the expansive battlefields around Gettysburg.
