Hi guys and welcome back to the unbrothered blonde's podcast. It's me, Kate. This is the first time I've ever done an intro before because for the past few episodes, Randa has been interviewing me. So I'm really excited to take the reins and to learn more about Randa because I'm sure there's a lot of things that I'm not going to know. And a little thing I have to say is for the longest time, I did not know how to pronounce your name, Randa. Really? A lot of people. Grant had me so confused. He misses with everyone with calling me all the crazy names. Gopher's like, is it Rhonda? I'm like, no, I don't think so. Like, I had a photographer that we

worked with for two years that clearly knew Grant and I, you know, we were friends outside of even

like working together with photography. And he even questioned it after Grant started doing that.

So I tell him he has to stop because I grew up where people didn't know how to pronounce my first

or my maiden name.

So I'm used to it. Well, you have a very unique name. Very. Well, I'm excited to get started. So this week's episode is going to be all about your childhood. And everybody's really, really antsy to get into the business side of things. But that's a whole episode on its own, right? Yes. I think that'll be the next episode. And I feel like kind of talking about my upbringing,

it will all make a lot of sense then when we dive into the business side. And not only make a lot

of sense, but I think it will make, like, come to light of some risk that I took that people

might not understand how risky they were for me.

Well, I'm excited to dive in because I want to know more. I know everybody else wants to know more. So let's get started with the very beginning. Tell us about Randa and where you're from.

Okay. Well, my name is Randa. My made name was Yazik and no one knew how to pronounce that.

I've now been married for almost four years to grant, so my last name now is Karaba,

Saranda Karaba.

But I grew up a very small town girl.

I'm from a very small town in Texas, halfway between College Station and Waco.

It's called Breemond, and there's 800 people.

And I graduated high school with 30 people.

So when I say small town,

like by the time you did anything Saturday night, everyone in the front pew at church on

Sunday morning already knew. That is exactly how I grew up. And on top of that, my dad is our

county sheriff. So he was the lead deputy up until I was in third grade. And then in third

grade, the current sheriff who had been sheriff forever was retiring. And he wanted my dad to be sheriff.
