Hello and welcome to best laid plans. This is Sarah Hardunger and this is the podcast where we talk all things planning and planning adjacent. So today I'm going to talk about the topic, lessons from a hard week.

0:23.2

Because I just had a pretty hard week, and I do feel like there were some things I can share that I thought a lot about as the week went on and that I hope to maybe put into practice next time.

0:35.3

I think maybe some people listening to this podcast who don't know

0:39.1

me in real life may think that I have everything under control at all times because I love

0:45.1

to plan. And anybody who does know me who listens to this podcast knows that that is

0:51.2

certainly not the case. I am pretty high functioning, I would say,

0:56.7

1:37.9

you become tired.

1:39.5

It's just a really challenging time, almost universally.

1:42.7

I'm not sure anyone would ever say that,

1:44.7

you know, those first few weeks after having a newborn are easy or goes smoothly. Well, maybe there

1:50.2

are some people like that, but I don't think there's that many of them. And then there are times

1:55.0

that my job might be, maybe that's one of the only things that I'm doing or perhaps

2:00.2

thinking back to my residency years,

2:02.2

I didn't have that many other responsibilities, but there were some months that were just

2:05.9

incredibly intense and required a lot of work, months where I had to take overnight call
