Podcast Network. I'm Pete, joined by Darius. Mike is out today. And Darius wrote a really good post today

at Silver Screen & Roll that I suggest you check out. That's about the idea of embracing work,

embracing the journey, and embracing the process of getting better. And there's a great line at

the end that you and I were laughing about. I'm paraphrasing. I don't have it in front of me

because I have you to clarify any mistakes that I make. But you characterize this team as intentionally lowering its floor

for the purpose of raising its ceiling. That really encapsulated, I think, really where we are.

And we saw that in the first couple of preseason games where we took our lumps, especially on

the defensive end during stretches. Part of that's personnel and all that. But part of that is

actually a very real thing that we're going to deal with this season. I was thinking about the construction

of this roster, and I think about what the Lakers did in the championship season in 2020.

They built a very specific type of team, intentionally or not, like, I think we'll see what future versions of Rob Polinka

built teams look like.

And I think that'll give us more insight into what the construction was of that specific
