I mean, our mentality, everybody would probably say I'd take it a game at a time or whatever,

but like we're coming back to win.

I don't think you would have got everybody back here together under the circumstances

if we didn't want to go out there and win.

So we're excited at the opportunity to try and do that.

for the NHL and the Washington Capitals to go through all this without the hopes and dreams

of raising the Stanley Cup above their head. One more time as the return to play is now

underway, we at NBC Sports Washington did not go out today because we are kind of amping up

keeping our people safe for our game covers. So we were not there. We did not have eyes or ears

out there. So I had to go recruiting today and bringing Mike Vogel from the Washington

What jumped out at you most about day one?

The social distancing, really.

Like, you know, you haven't seen these guys in four months.

And typically, you know, like Dave Marin, a good buddy of mine, I would go up and throw him a big

hug if these were normal circumstances. These are friends of mine guys I've known for, you know,

in most cases a decade or more that I haven't seen in months. And so it's just that weird

situation where you don't really know how to greet people.

That physical contact isn't there.
