0:13.0	It is vital that God's people recognize their place in this conflict
0:18.0	and are equipped for spiritual warfare in our day. Let's join Scott Pauli now as we open God's Word and prepare for the front lines.
0:26.6	The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution says a well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. No, this is not a political episode today, but I want to say I'm very grateful to be a part of a free nation.
0:57.9	And one of the secrets and one of the keys to that is that free people have the right to keep and bear arms, to defend their own liberty.
1:08.0	Well, what is true in our country is true for the good soldier of Jesus Christ. You see,
1:14.6	when you come to our study in Ephesians chapter number six, where we're looking at the whole
1:19.2	armor of God, it's fascinating to me how much emphasis there is on arming yourself. And we are to be
1:26.8	an armed people. You see, the first three pieces of
1:30.8	the armor that we've looked at are mostly defensive. We looked at the belt of truth. Christ is our
1:36.4	truth. We looked at the breastplate of righteousness. Christ our righteousness. We looked at
1:40.6	the shield of faith. Christ, the object of our faith. But now we come to a fascinating portion of scripture.
1:48.2	In verse number 15, the Bible says,
1:50.0	And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace.
1:56.5	Then, if you come to verse number 17, it says,
1:59.0	and take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit,
2:03.2	which is the Word of God. I want to suggest to you that actually those three pieces actually have
2:08.7	something in common. The Gospel of Peace, salvation, and the Word of God. In a very real sense,
2:16.5	all three pieces that I've just given to you,
2:19.6	head to toe, top to bottom for the Christian soldier, are in some way connected to the Word of God.
2:26.6	All offensive warfare is connected to the Word, to the gospel. All the armor is not defensive. It's offensive. Perhaps you've heard this
