Hi Reina, it's lovely to meet you. Can you introduce yourself please?

Guess hi, I am Reina Jung. I am the chef and owner to sandwich hag in Dallas, Texas. It's a Vietnamese restaurant.

There, I not only create my menu, which are Vietnamese sandwiches called banh mi.

I also specialize in Vietnamese gaffe, which is super strong and delicious.

And I am, that's all I have right now.

That sounds delicious. How did you first discover your love of cooking?

I didn't love cooking at all because my mom, Ma, is what I called her.

It would make me through guilt trips, cooking the kitchen with her.

And I always wanted to be outside and play and climb trees and eat dirt, you know, as kids do.

But I paid attention to everything that she was doing.

I think her reasons were different from mine in regards to like the love of cooking.

But I think what we had in common was the love of food and nurturing people that we love through cooking.

So I would say that's how it began in my mom's kitchen and in my math kitchen.

What are some of your favorite ingredients to cook with them? Why?

I love cooking with coconut milk because it's very diverse.

In Vietnamese cuisine, we can use it for savory or sweet.

You can transform it into a dry dish or a soup dish, a dessert dish, or a savory tangy, spicy sour dish.
