I'm your host, Paloma, and today we're talking to ventriloquist and puppeteer, Megan Pfeis.

Hello, thank you.

Can you please tell our audience a little bit about who you are and what you do?

I'm Megan Pfeis and I'm a children's performer. I also like to think of myself as a creator.

I like making things. I like making stories.

I love making music, books, and I love performing for children of all ages with puppets.

That sounds like a really fun job.

What does a puppeteer do?

Being a puppeteer is imitating life through other objects.

So I get puppeteer an apple.

I get puppeteer a monster.

And we put everything that we observe in life, how we walk, how we jump,

and we express it into a silly way through an object like a puppet.

Wow.

How did you first get into that?

I started puppetry when I was 10 years old.

I grew up watching Sesame Street and Sherry Lewis and Lamb Chop, Mr. Rogers neighborhood,

Barney, and those all had puppets.
