Hi, Rebels. This is Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls, the interview.

I'm your host, Ena, and today we're talking to Disability Advocates, Avery Roberts, and Kelly Brigger.

Hi, Avery and Kelly. We're so happy to have you here. Can you please start by telling us a little

bit about yourselves? I'm Avery Roberts. I live with a general muscular dystrophy like Kelly. We live

with the same subtype. I'm a disability in rare disease advocate and speaker. And I'm Kelly,

and I live in Ohio, and I am also a

wheelchair user. I live with CMD, as Avery Had mentioned, and I am a dedicated disability advocate,

just advocating for equality and inclusion. It's great to meet you both. Can you tell us a story of how

you two met? Yeah, Kelly and I met at like a bird disease community event. That was around five years ago.

And we found out we have so much in common and it just really just spiraled and blossomed

from there.

That's awesome that you found each other.

You both do a lot of exciting things outside of your advocacy.

Like Avery, you performed on the famous Radio City Music Hall mainstage.

When did your love for dancing begin?

My parents really trying to find something that I could partake in, and they put me in a special needs dance class, and so the parents could partake in it.

And then I eventually met someone who lives with a similar condition to CMD in a dance program at the National Dance Institute, one of their advanced teams, and so I then joined that team

and got back into my love of dance.

I like how your love of dance started so young

and grew with you.
