Summary

Kristi Leskinen used to dream of getting big air. When she started freestyle skiing, there were very few other girls involved in the sport. So, she and her friend teamed up to show girls just how cool doing jumps and tricks on skis can be! This podcast is a production of Rebel Girls. It’s based on the book series Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls. This interview was produced by Haley Dapkus with sound design and mixing by John Marshall Media. Our intern was Arianna Griffiths. 1:23.9	Hi, I'm Christy Leskinan. I'm from a small town in southwestern Pennsylvania, and I'm a professional freestyle skier.
1:32.3	It's great to meet you. What is freestyle skiing anyway?
1:37.3	It's rails, it's doing tricks and spins and flips and all the kind of crazy things that you think of when you think of skiing.
1:46.0	And how did you first get involved with the sport?
1:49.1	I think it was the speed and the adrenaline rush of skiing that first drew me in.
1:53.3	That and I always loved to be able to do things that other people couldn't.
