Hello, I'm Brooklyn Corrie. I'm 24 years old, and I'm a skateboarder and a surfer living in Los Angeles.

0:50.4

Nice! How did you first get into skateboarding?

0:54.4

My parents did banners and stickers when I was growing up, so they would get skateboards sent to them

1:08.8

little just kicking and, you know, pushing and just skating around. And I always used to tell

1:14.2

my neighbors, like, I'm going to skateboard when I grow up, and I actually joined the surf team

1:18.9

in high school, and a kid that used to make fun of me fell skating, and I used that as, like,

1:25.0

ambition to go and skate and skate better than him. So I actually went to the skate park that day,

1:30.0

and I watched people skate, and I watched people fall, and then I learned how to do it based on them,

1:34.7

so I basically taught myself in high school, and I've been doing it since about, like, five years now.

1:41.6

The end of high school, like senior year. That's really cool. Do you have a favorite skateboard trick?

1:49.0

My favorite trick. I really like doing anything that airs out of a bowl, so a finger flip,

1:54.8

a finger shove. Man, kick flips are fun, 360s, everything. I honestly find joy in every trick,

2:01.6

because I had to go through something to get there, so I appreciate every trick that I can land.

2:05.7

That's awesome. You post a lot of skate content online, but you also post a lot about your recovery

2:14.8

journey. Can you tell us about how you got hurt and what it took to get better?
