founder of Eltona Girls Avery Colvert.

Hi Avery, thanks for being on the show.

Can you please introduce yourself to our audience?

Hi, my name is Avery Colvert.

I am 15 years old, and I was born in Nashville, Tennessee, and then I moved to Pasadena, California.

And I started an organization called Alta Dina Girls, and I'm so excited to talk about it today.

That's awesome! I live in LA too! What was it like growing up in Nashville?

I love Nashville. I think Nashville will always be my home, no matter where I live. Both of my parents were in the music industry. So I grew up around a lot of music, going to a lot of shows.

And I think that really shaped who I am today because I love music and I love concerts and everything like that.

It's very different from California.

That's so cool. That sounds like a lot of fun.

Now, changing topics, I know your family tragically lost your Nashville home in a flash flood. Can you tell us about that experience and how it shaped you? I was actually at my dad's house at the time. I was not at my house when it flooded. But I remember the next day my mom calling me and showing me over FaceTime, like, hey, our house flooded. And I remember walking around my driveway to go to the

backyard, and I remember seeing just like piles and piles of my stuff. It was really hard to see that

happen and to lose stuff. Oh my gosh, I can't imagine how hard that must have been. After the flood,

you and your family moved to Aladena, California. What was

it like leaving your community and starting somewhere new?

I didn't want to move. I didn't want to leave my friends. I didn't want to leave my family,

but ended up being the best decision. I feel like I make friends pretty easily and I'm a very
