And today, we're talking to cookbook author, food stylist,

and photographer, Aaron Goyawaga.

Hi, Erin.

We're so glad you're here.

Can you please kick things off by introducing yourself to our audience?

I'm Erin Goyoga.

I'm originally from the Basque Country in northern Spain, but I live in Seattle.

I'm a cookbook author.

I write gluten-free recipes, mostly baking, but also cooking.

And I also photograph my work, and I'm a food stylist.

Wow, I think I'm getting hungry already.

What does the food stylist do?

A food stylist is someone who plays with just different degrees of creative vision that is executed by a photographer, the food stylist, a creative team.

With food, there's probably a food stylist behind it.

A food stylist sounds like the coolest job in the whole world.

When you were growing up in Spain, your grandparents owned a pastry shop across the street from where you lived, and a lot of your family worked there.

What was it like to grow up in a community like that?

It was actually kind of idyllic, and I didn't realize at the time.
