Yeah, sure. My name is Ani DiFranco, and I am a songwriter, guitar player, performer, a rabble-rouser.

Annie, when did you know you wanted to be a musician?

Was it when you were a kid or an adult?

I was making music as a kid, yeah.

When I was nine, I asked my parents to give me a guitar.

And I don't remember exactly where I got that idea from, but I was very sure about it.

And luckily, they humored me and they got me a guitar and I have sort of

been attached to it ever since. When you started performing were you scared? Oh
