It used to be that if you wanted to have a child you had to be married if you wanted to have a sex life you had to be married

Now these things are available to women regardless of marital status and many people certainly the two of us included

think that's a very good thing and so when you see this kind of conservative

panic about marriage what it is really about is the fact

that we have all of these legal and cultural changes that make women less dependent on marriage.

And so their solutions are to bring those back,

to further incentivize marriage,
