Welcome to today's episode. Today we're going to be talking about how to get clarity on what you want in your life.

So when we're talking about clarity, I talk with a lot of people that have an idea of what they want in their life, but they're not really 100% sure of exactly what they want.

There's no clarity on what they want, and you'll never hit a target that you won't see.

But most people have a general idea. I want to make money. I want to be successful. I want to have a great family. I want to own my own business.

I guess you could say those are goals somewhat, but they're not very clear on exactly what they want. Someone says I want to make more money.

What does that mean? Well, if you make one more dollar than you did last year, guess what? You made more money.

So all of that is relative until you sit down with the pen and paper and say, this is exactly what I want.

You will never hit a target that you can't see. And so I'll give you a perfect example that I like to give people.

If you're sitting, let's say I take you out and I'm going to put you up to next to the number one archer in the world, the number one person with a bow and arrow.

If I put both of you at the exact same spot, the exact same distance, give both of you a bow and arrow, who has a better chance of hitting that target?

It's an obvious answer. If it's the number one archer in the world, they have a better chance of hitting the target.

They have the practice. They have the 10,000 hours. They have a better chance. They're better than you at it.

But if I were to take the exact same archer, blindfold them, spin them around a few times, and then just let them go, who has a better chance of hitting that target then?

The answer is you. And it's not because you're better. It's not because you have any other sort of advantage.

The only advantage that you really have is that you can actually see the target that you're trying to hit.

And that's exactly how it works for your goals. If you don't know exactly what you want, you're not going to get it.

That's like getting mad at you. Say for instance, your mom says, hey, honey, what do you want for Christmas?

And you're like, oh, I don't know exactly what I want. And you get mad at your mom with a gift that she gives you because it's not the gift that you wanted.
