He testified to this committee about his concerns,

given the claims that Mr. Giuliani and Ms. Powell and their team were making publicly.

Okay, and was it important for you, Mr. Steppian, to sort of pull back just for your own professional reputation.

You didn't want to be associated with some of what you were hearing from the Giuliani team and others that sort of stepped in in the wake of your departure?

I didn't mind being categorized. There were two groups of family. We called them kind of my team and Rudy's team. I didn't mind being characterized as being part of team normal. There were teams, team normal, and then the rest of them. Seriously. If the January 6 hearings prove anything, it's that Trump will always make the stupidest choices, side with the most insane characters spouting the worst and most dangerous plans if he thinks it will somehow benefit him, or help him overthrow the government to win an election, or at the very least make him a shit ton of money if he loses.

And the January 6th committee revealed earlier this week that Trump got at least some of

the things on his evil wish list when he was able to raise millions of dollars defending

the big lie. Millions that can't be accounted for because it went directly into his pocket.

Are you surprised? Between election day in January 6th, the Trump campaign sent millions of

fundraising emails to Trump supporters, sometimes as many as 25 a day. The emails claimed the

quote, left-wing mob was undermining the election, implored supporters

to, quote, step up to protect the integrity of the election and encourage them to, quote,

fight back.

But as the Select Committee has demonstrated, the Trump campaign knew these claims of voter fraud
