Angela Merkel's party, the Christian Democratic Union, is on track to rack up the largest

percentage of votes securing a fourth term for Merkel as the country's chancellor.

But these are uncertain political times borne out by Great Britain's preparation to leave the European Union

and the election of U.S. President Donald Trump.
