Summary

Stew is in Indy for the National Championship and Bruce is in San Antonio for the coaches convention. The guys get together after the final whistle to discuss their postgame takeaways. Georgia's defense stepped up in a big way and dominated like they have for most of the season. Former walk on QB Stetson Bennett did what no other UGA QB could since 1980: win a title. Bennett has a 6th year of eligibility remaining for next year. Will he be back or ride off into the sunset? Plus, Stew's early top 25 for next season and a playoff expansion update.

That's the thing.

0:51.7

I am really excited to have been back at a national

0:55.3

championship game after missing last year. I was the first one I'd missed in a long time. I will say,

0:59.7

Bruce, and you've covered many of these, it didn't feel like I was covering the national championship

1:04.8

game necessarily because of what you just said. Normally, you go down on the field beforehand,

1:10.5

when the teams are warming up, you can kind of sense the electricity in the building, and you go down on the field beforehand when the teams are warming up you can kind of sense the electricity in the building and you go up and watch most of the game from the press box then you go back down at the end and you I mean as you know like that scene when the team is celebrating you're right you know you don't get that kind of color and emotion after a regular season game. And then you even get to go in the

1:28.1

locker room. But because of COVID, none of that was, you know, we were not allowed to do any of that.

1:35.5

So, you know, if you're at an NFL stadium, it's an enclosed press box. You don't, you can hear the

1:41.7

crowd, but not at the normal sound. So basically, I just felt like I kind of,

1:47.0

like I watched the game on television inside the stadium. It was a good game. I know some people

1:54.0

say, oh, it's two SEC teams. I don't care about that, et cetera, et cetera. You know, after three
