Hey, this is George Wears. I'm doing another podcast. I like to talk a little bit about Iowa State men's basketball.

It's been a long season that has been a disappointment, probably as much for the players or more so for the players and coaches

than any of us as fans. But I like to give my perspective as to what I think is going on with

the Iowa State team in the Iowa State fan base.

I think when you look at the Iowa State fans, and I'm going to speak individually,

you know, you're in the middle of winter and you've got something

look forward to and that has kind of been the basketball team and it's not so much

whether or not they win every game it's more there's this kind of hope hope that they're going to be

competitive in the big 12 hope that they're going to make a run in the conference

tournament hope that they're going to get to the Unson away tournament and you know maybe

get to the second weekend if not beyond.

And I think all Iowa State fans are realistic, despite the fact that they're very, very passionate.

And when things aren't going well, and it's not just this year you know you

look at coach Royburg's last year when it ended with kind of a crushing loss to

you a B when there was a thought that maybe this team is going to go deep into the

incident of a tournament that it didn't happen and it's not just losing the

game it's like there's another opportunity of one more game, two more games

getting into the second weekend and and just the satisfaction of the happiness that

brings the fan base and I'm not sure if people can really grasp that if you're not a part of it.

And when you look at this year, this isn't a criticism per se of coach,

Prom, the staff or any of the players.

But I think what sometimes people need to realize
