George V has gone down in the history books as something of a dullard,

a man about whom there is little to say,

but according to a new biography by Jane Ridley,

both George and his reign contain much more to be fascinated by.

On the throne from 1910 to 1936, George witnessed an immensely tumultuous era and helped

keep Britain's monarchy afloat as others across Europe crumbled. I spoke to Jane to find out more.
