George Tillman Jr. felt called to make The Hate You Give about a black teen who divides her

time between her mostly white high school and her mostly black neighborhood.

He wasn't daunted by the fact that the film was based on a novel for young adults.

Tillman tells us about having to convince Fox that the movie wouldn't be too anti-cop

and tells us that his career, he directed

soul food and men of honor and produced the Barbershop movies, all began with a love of soap operas.

So what we are seeing this past week is that Endeavor, which is the parent of William Morris,

Endeavor and various other interests in fashion and rodeo and all kinds of entertainment-related stuff, is planning to get rid of a $400 million investment from the Saudis.

This, of course, in the wake of the apparent gruesome murder of

Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, which it is highly likely at this point we can say, I think,
