All right? This is Chris Chifflet. You might be looking at your phone thinking,

what is this brand new episode of Walking the Floor? This podcast has been dormant for years, right?

And who is George Gascon? I'm not familiar with his music. This is a music

podcast, right? Well let me explain. I've had this idea for a little while now

about starting a new show that's more focused on politics and policy but I don't have a

setup to put that out yet I don't even have a name I don't really even have a

fully formed idea but the opportunity came up to interview our district

attorney right here in Los Angeles, George Gascon, who is currently in a

re-election fight. You may have heard there's a big election next week.

So I wanted to get this out fast. So you know I know politics isn't everybody's bag if it's

not yours and this upsets you just delete it off your phone and don't listen but if you're somebody that that is interested I think

Gascone is a really interesting smart guy he's's an immigrant himself. He's a vet. He started out as a

LAPD patrol officer, worked his way all the way up to chief of police in Mesa, Arizona,

and San Francisco.

He's currently, like I said, the DA here in LA,

and he gets blamed for an awful lot.

And that's why I wanted to interview him,

because I just wanted to hear from him.

So here's what people accuse you of and hold you responsible for.

How does the actual policy, and specifically the reforms that you've put into place since you've been in office.

How do those policies work and what is their impact been?

I'm a little out of shape to do a political interview.
