appeared on this podcast 278 episode back in 2019, is a first-rate actor, writer, director, and producer

who has been a staple of Hollywood's alist for more than three decades. Picking up, along the way,

two Oscars, one for acting and one for producing, three Golden Globes, plus the Globes'

Cessalby-Demill Award, a BAFTA Award, plus BAFTA L.A. Stanley Kubrick

Britannia Award. Three Emmy NOMs, plus the TV Academy's Bob Hope Humanitarian Award,

a Tony Nom, an Honorary Cesar, an AFI Life Achievement Award, and a Kennedy Center honor,

to say nothing of having twice been named people's Sexiest Man Alive.

George Clooney, of course, made his name on NBC's ER, from

1994 through 1998, and then transition to the big screen, starring in projects such as 1998's

Out of Sight, 1999's Three Kings, 2000s the Perfect Storm, and O Brother Where Art thou, 2001's

Oceans 11, and its 2004 and 2007 sequels,

2005 Seriana, 2007's Michael Clayton, 2009's up in the air, 2011's The Descendants, and the Iads of

March, and 2013's Gravity. He also directed and played smaller parts in 2002's Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and

2005's Good Night and Good Luck, and he produced 2012's Argo and 2013's August, Osage County.

When we last spoke, he was promoting Catch 22, a limited series on which he was an executive producer

and director, and in which he

also played a supporting role. Over the course of this follow-up conversation at the Sunset Tower

Hotel in West Hollywood, the 64-year-old and I discussed everything that he has been up to since then,

including directing three films, one of which he also starred in, starring opposite Julia Roberts in a rom-com
