George A. Romero, the man who is in many ways the father of modern horror, known mostly

of course for his amazing zombie films, his early trilogy especially of Night of the Living

Dead, Dawn of the Dead and Dare of the Dead showed that horror films could be used as

Trojan horses to hide social commentary in amongst the scares but it's not just about

some basis anyone who's seen Martin creeps show the crazies or even his non-horror films

including the brilliant and mad knight writers who will know George was in London recently

to appear at the BFI's Gothic season and he came in to talk to me and filled the

similion about his glittering career including opportunities missed.
