Jeffrey, is music important in your life?

No, I'm afraid it isn't, not very.

I'm a musical ignoramus, almost entirely.

I tone deaf.

My family laughs if I try and sing anything. I believe you once shared a house with Constant Lambert. It must have been

unfortunate to have been slightly averse to his music. Well we lived on

different floors, rather, I must admit.

You play discs a lot.

You know, it's terrible.

If you live as a professional writer,

you very little time to put a gramophone record onto a grammophonist, I find that.

You're always working.

You never provide yourself with a musical accompaniment while you're doing a routine task like copy typing or something

of that sort. Never, never, never, no.

I was just rather depressing, isn't it?

What an unmusical person have got home?

Well, we'll wait and see what you play players. Was it a hard task to select just eight discs for a desert island?

Yes, because in spite of being a musical, Ligneramus, you know, you had to choose eight among your favorite things.
