And the Hey everybody welcome to another episode of Purple Insider Matthew Collar and

Jonathan Harrison here and we've got some questions to go through hot route style.

Normally we do kind of an around the league hot routes

on Tuesday nights here, but there is so much going on

with the Minnesota Vikings, so many questions to ask that we are going to focus it on here as we mostly do on this channel anyway.

So a lot to discuss Jonathan, but maybe the weirdest thing, and this isn't even necessarily where I wanted to start, but it's just kind of a crazy day on Twitter to watch as the Daniel Jones and Lamar Jackson situations have played out.

I have to say that I always just expected the Baltimore Ravens to straight up regularly franchise

Lamar Jackson, but I did not expect the NFL and its owners and

teams to start waging war on expensive quarterbacks. What a time to see this happen

where it seems as teams come out and tell reporters that they're not going to go after Lamar Jackson and the non-exclusive tag is only

the $32 million for Lamar as he seeks to Sean Watson level money and yet I think Deshaun Watson is the only person who's ever going to have

Deshaun Watson level money or at least for a very long time if the NFL suppresses the

raise in quarterback salaries as it seems that they did. This was something that I truly did not see coming at the beginning of this

off season but seems like a concerted effort from the league to say okay whoa Jimmy Haslam kind of went wild last off season, but we're not letting everybody else follow soup.

You figured something like this might happen eventually, and shocker, they go after the guy who's representing himself

so he doesn't really have an agent to fight back so that's probably got a lot to do with

it in the fact that Lamar Jackson has always represented himself and doesn't

have an agent to go to bat for him.

So it's not shocking that they're doing this,

but it's also weird that it comes in the same week

that Derek Carr gets paid the same day that Daniel Jones gets paid, the same day that we're getting rumors of

Aaron Rogers almost seems like joining the New York Jets at this point.
