What's up, guys? Rick here with your preview for this week's Genesis Invitational, and we are back

at Riviera. And boy, do I love Riviera. I do. We didn't play here last year because of the

wildfires in California. So they played this event at Torrey Pines. So as we're going through this,

you're going to hear me reference Riviera history as opposed to tournament history, a little bit of both. And I mean,

this place is spiritual, man. You get there in the morning. The sun is rising. It's usually

pretty chilly in the mornings. And it just, God, it just basks this place. It's fantastic. So

let's get right into it. We've got Riviera country club.

George Thomas is known for his half par holes, right? So number one, out of the gate, par five,

one of the easiest holes on the PJ tour schedule. I mean, like, I could make Bernie out there

at this place.

It plays nearly to a 4.3.

That par 5 scoring average is usually in line with the scoring average of number two,

which is a very difficult par four.

So you're basically, the first two holes are basically a par nine, but it's like four and a half, four and a half as opposed to five and four. It's weird. You get like a lot of birdie, bogey starts. And then you kind of see that throughout the rest of the golf course. I mean, look at how many holes play a quarter of a stroke or a third of a stroke over par. And then how many holes play a third of a stroke or a third of a stroke over par and then how many holes play

a third of a stroke under par and it's a lot it's a lot compared to other other venues of course

and then you get you know number 10 is such a fantastic hole it it plays it plays to its par even but you're going to see birdies and you're going to see

like triples on a hole that is in length drivable but in practice getting it to stay on the

green and pin locations and like 900 different ways to play it. It's such a

fantastic hole. So there's really a lot to like about this. From a statistical perspective,

you do, outside of the difficulty of number two, for example, you do get eased into this round

off the T. You can miss the fairways on the first hole,

the second hole, the third hole,
