0:09.2	Well, maybe we can just take a few minutes to discuss chapters 46 and 47.
0:13.9	A lot of this is standard narrative.
0:15.5	We want to get the family down into Egypt.
0:17.5	We're going to set up for Jacob and Joseph dying and the Exodus and all that. But there are
0:22.1	still a few things to note here. I like what happens in the opening of Chapter 46, where when Israel
0:28.6	had set out to his journey to come down to Egypt, he has a vision of God. God appears to him in a
0:35.5	nighttime vision. You'll notice her the language parallels the language
0:39.3	God uses to talk with Abraham, his grandpa. I am God, the God of your father. Do not be afraid to go
0:46.3	down to Egypt. Remember, Abraham also went down to Egypt at one point. For I will make of you a great nation
0:51.7	there. Hey, there you go. That's Abraham at covenant language. I myself will go down with you to Egypt and I will make of you a great nation there. Hey, there you go. That's Abrahamic covenant language.
0:54.9	I myself will go down with you to Egypt and I will also bring you up again and Joseph's own
1:00.9	hand shall close your eyes. That's pretty beautiful reassurance from God. He's telling Jacob
1:06.9	to go down to this strange foreign land that is hostile and there's uncertainty and there's
1:12.7	a famine looming. And God reassures him, be not afraid to go down to Egypt. I will go there with you.
1:19.3	If you and your personal life are feeling like kind of intimidated to go down into whatever your
1:24.1	personal Egypt might be, it could be you have to literally move for a job or for school.
1:28.9	You're nervous to go on your mission. Perhaps there's something personally happening in your life
1:33.5	that you have to descend down into Egypt as it were to get there. You can take with you this
1:38.1	reassurance from the Lord in these verses that he will be with you. You do not have to be afraid
1:43.0	and he will make of you
