When the Son of Man comeeth shall he find faith on the earth.

Lord, I believe, help thou mine unbelief.

May our testimonies be as deep to the strong as that of Jacob.

Hello to all of you wonderful, unshaken saints out there.

I'm Jared Halverson and I'm excited to dive into the second half of our discussion of Joseph in Egypt.

Last week we talked a little bit about Broadway and Hollywood and whether it's Joseph King of Dreams

or Joseph in the amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

We figured we'd stick with Genesis since the book is always better than the movie.

Well, I did want to at least pay some homage to the movie version, that animated story of Joseph

because of something that blessed me as I was preparing myself for this lesson.

Each week as I get ready to sit down to film, I spend a ton of time in Scripture, as you can probably guess,

reviewing things to try to get everything back into my mind and heart and checking commentaries

and alternate Bible translations and you name it.

Beyond that, to get into the more spiritual zone, I'll usually come and roll at my sleeves to remind myself that I've got work to do

and take off my shoes to remind myself that I'm on holy ground with you and with the Scriptures

and then kneel down and pray and ask Heavenly Father usually for two things.

One is to purify motive on my part so that all glory goes to God.

My wife used to joke that pride is a lot like bad breath.

Somebody might have wonderful things to say, but man, it stinks as it comes out of their mouth.

And I don't want that. And so I pray that these lessons may read down to the glory of God, the giver of every good gift
