So we'll go ahead and get started.

When we get started in just a moment, we'll be picking up in Genesis chapter 35.

And we are basically wrapping up the stories of Jacob and Esau.

And getting ready to start, I doubt we'll get there tonight, but who knows?

Getting ready to start the story of Joseph.

When we do get to Joseph, we'll talk some more about that.

But this is, when I say we're in the wrap-up stage, I mean, we're getting toward genealogies.

We're getting toward thatalogies. We're getting toward

that kind of material, right, the death of the previous generation in order to set up to talk about the next generation.

So the last, and that transition has already sort of started, right. So remember the last story we read was about the eldest sons, Rubin and Simeon of Jacob,

taking sort of brutal revenge on the men of an entire town for having violated their sister and Jacob being quite

angry at them for that based on the position it put them in living as sort of nomads in the land

they had pretty good relations with people.

People hear you massacre to town.

You know, things get awkward at the local gatherings.

So as we're going to see, Jacob's going to have to move a little bit.

It's going to have to reorient.

But he's also quite elderly.

We've been seeing since we read about Jacob and his brother, Esau, reconciling.
