Welcome to Through the Bible, a five-year journey through the whole Word of God.

As we travel through the book of Genesis, our teacher, Dr. J. Vernon McGee, reminds us that this first book of the Bible is clearly divided into two major sections.

Chapters 1 through 11 record four great events, and chapters 12 through 50 introduce us to four outstanding people.

We've already studied the life of Abraham in chapters 12 through 23,

and now our focus turns to his son, Isaac.

So turn with me in your Bible to Genesis 24,

as we begin the long journey back to Abraham's homeland, Mesopotamia.

So as you find your place, let's pause for a moment to hear

from a few of our fellow travelers on the Bible bus. First a short note from a pastor in Ethiopia,

Whenever I read the Bible, I found it difficult to understand.

I used to search on YouTube to learn the meaning of the scriptures.
