How did the world begin?

Who, or what, brought it into existence, and what really happened in those first moments?

Both science and religions offer amazing and sometimes curious explanations about the origins of the universe.

In this study on Through the Bible, our teacher Dr. J. Vernonee, takes a fresh look at some of these theories and measures

them against the truth of scripture. I'm Steve Schwetz, welcoming you aboard the Bible bus for

another great journey in God's Word. Last time, Dr. McGee shared his thoughts as he looked ahead to

our five-year journey through the entire Bible, and now we'll hear the conclusion of that introduction.

I feel like I know less about him today at the end of my ministry than I did at the beginning

of it. When I began my ministry, I thought I knew something, in fact, practically everything.

But it took a long time to deprogram me.

The scandal, I think, actually of Christendom today is ignorance of the Word of God.

We have sprinkling today the talcum powder of singing choruses and quoting verses of scripture, and that will not cover up this

shameful condition. Feeding on the entertainment of so-called Bible study is merely a band-aid

solution to the problem. Neither will suffice. We're the study to show thyself approved under God or

workmen that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth. And some Christians

do not know enough. Bible to even divide it. The mighty purpose of God flows like a giant river through the word of God.

You learn that purpose when you study the entire word of God, all 66 books.

The Bible is not a smorgasbord table where you choose what you want.

It's a full meal where you get what is set before you.

And we're told eat what's set before us. And he's given us a marvelous banquet. Sixty-six dishes,

1190 chapters, 31,173, 173 verses, and now do you want this, 773,746 words.
