But today I wanted to speak with someone who really approaches this from a therapeutic perspective, who's really all about reframing how we think about communicating about money.

Because yes, money is a huge impacting factor on relationships.

As most of us know, it's one of the primary causes of divorce and marriage.

And even for couples that don't end in divorce can cause humongous problems

throughout the course of a relationship.

But it is also a big elephant in the room in our friendships, in our family relationships, and basically every single dynamic we have.

And even with our relationship with ourselves,

money can be a huge issue.

We bring baggage and shame and anxiety and a sense of insufficiency,

as we talked about in our episode last week with Farnush Tarabi,

who was raised by immigrant parents who fled the Iranian revolution.

Even the received money narratives and traumas and pressures of the generations before us can hugely impact us, even if we grew up personally in a totally different way.

Ultimately, my guest today talks a lot in her actual practical work, but also in the content that she creates about

sort of reframing our entire thinking around money and learning how to communicate more effectively

so that money becomes something for which we can work together and not something that's

constantly tearing us apart. And again, that includes in our relationship with ourselves.
