Welcome back to the writers panel, and hey, happy new year.

It's me, Ben Blacker, the creator and moderator of the podcast.

As you know, I created the show because I wanted to talk to other writers about the business and process of writing.

I've had almost a thousand writers on the show, so please check the archives to find

more writers and more TV shows that interest you. I myself have written a bunch of things

with my writing partner, Ben Acker, so not just myself. We were on the writing staff of Supernatural,

of Puss and Bootsots on a few other programs.

Last year, though, 2017 was a weird year.

We did a lot of writing, but very little of it for TV.

We're out pitching a couple of projects, but I'm not allowed to talk about those yet.

But here are some things you can run out and buy if you want to support me,

and if you want to support this show.

And supporting me is supporting this show. Akker and I wrote two Star Wars one-shot comics tied into The Last Jedi, the terrific new Star Wars movie. One of these is about the salt-covered planet of Crate,

which you see in the movie. It is stunningly illustrated by Mike Mayhew, who's done a bunch of

Star Wars work for Marvel. There are a few pages in there that are among my very favorite

comic book work that Ben and I have done. And that's out now. You can get that from your local

comic book shop or at Comicsology. And on January 31st, our story about Benicio del Toro's character, DJ, is being

released. It's penciled by Kev Walker and shows how DJ wound up in jail on the casino planet

in The Last Jedi. Both of those are from Marvel. Both of those, get them in your comic book
