Each week we bring together three brilliant women to talk about life, work, love, possibly some sex, culture and maybe some politics.

With me today, perched on the red velvet chairs of a seriously historic London pub and lots of Toby Jugs in a sentence, are three women doing vital things.

Now, who've we got, B Appleby, editor of the female lead, a non-profit organisation that celebrates female achievement and diversity.

She is also the author of the children's book, What is feminism? Why do we need it?

Quite. Anne Vreen Razia is the creator, writer and star of the BBC 3 show, Hanslow Diaries, for which she won a debut Writers Award at the Edinburgh TV Festival this year. Her latest play is Pot, which focuses on teenagers in the UK care system and the risks they face of being drawn into gangs.

And Iona Bain set up the Young Money blog in 2011 with the aim of helping her generation be smarter about money.

She won freelancer of the Year Award in 2018 and is the author of Spare Change, How to Save More Budget and Be Happy with Your Finances.

Iona, you have entered my life far too late.

Can we talk about the gender price gap, Iona?

Does it actually exist?

Where does it exist?

Well, it exists mostly in toiletries.

And I think that this is going to lead to a very interesting debate because I do feel that the amount of money that women spend on pampering and putting their best foot forward

means that we end up spending an awful lot more over the piece than guys and I think it comes

back to Naomi Wolf when she talked about the beauty myth and the idea that actually women are inherently disadvantaged by our preoccupation with how we look and this pressure to present ourselves in the best possible way that guys just don't feel. And I don't think they'll ever feel it to the same extent as women.

So just to give some examples, are you talking about the difference in the price of male

raisers versus female raisers?
