Next month the Leander public library will not hold what it build as drag queen story time

overnight several right-wing websites and outspoken activists started sharing a flyer

Promoting the event the library invited people on June 15th to quote join us for fabulous stories and songs

Libraries all across the country have held similar events with drag queens to promote tolerance and acceptance of others

Those events though have drawn both support and pushback including in neighboring states like Arkansas and Louisiana

One Leander mother told us that she could not wait to bring her son to this event when she heard about it Wednesday

She's now disappointed to learn about its cancellation and as a message to whomever made that decision. It's really upsetting to think that

People can be excluded because of who they are or

Because of what they wear it's it's nothing more than that. It's just somebody coming in a fancy outfit to read stories to little kids

Is that really what it's about?

Is that the way

Transgendered persons or drag queens would describe themselves just people who wear funny costumes?

I think that's wrong factually

They certainly don't describe themselves that way. It's a lot more complex than that

But do you see how the left and these progressive parents? I mean, I don't know how they found like they found one person who would be so excited about this

But that's how they have to sell it. Oh

Don't worry. It's just for the kids. It's just a nice story hour. This is so cute isn't this fun

It's just a clown dressed like a dress like someone else. We like costumes. We use them on Halloween and in masquerade parties
