It's the gist I'm Mike Pesca.

In conflicts, verbal or actual, there's always the incentive to maximize the harms inflicted

by opponents.

If you can redefine a slight as an attack, you do so.

If you can further take an actual attack and call it a calamity, the incentives are there.

The limitations on such conflation are concepts like credibility.

But as we become more and more ideologically siloed, who's there to impose credibility?

Credibility becomes less defined as what actually happened and more defined as what the audience

eagerly wants to hear happened.

So here on the gist, I've noted the conflation of annoyance to threat and threat to harm

in the past, misgivings and unease.

It's one thing these days they're all described as a lack of safety.

It's very hard not to use this language.

It works.

And like I said, no one's there checking you on it.

In America, as passions explode, inspired by literal explosions in Gaza and Israel, there

are undeniable, linguistic and mental dangers.
