0:37.4	Before we get going, today's episode of Gear 30 is brought to
0:40.5	you by Taos Ski Valley. For those that don't know, Tauce Ski Valley will always hold a very special
0:45.7	place in my heart. It's where I learned to ski, where I learned to boot fit, and where I fell in love
0:50.6	with steep terrain. I have so many fond memories of skiing amazing wind buff on
0:55.3	Kachina Peak or untracked lines down West Basin. And of course, there's the amazing people
1:01.3	and community that reside there. House has several unique aspects to it that make it a truly
1:07.1	special ski area in the world. There's the culture, the views, and then of course,
1:11.7	there's all that they are doing as a B Corp. House is the first and only certified B Corp ski area,
1:17.4	and they have been so since 2017. They have also been certified carbon neutral since 2022.
1:23.8	Now, for those that are curious about how those certifications actually translate to day-to-day resort operations,
1:29.7	they are currently operating with nine electric snowmobiles, three electric snowblowers,
1:34.9	they're under contract for the first fully electric snowcat in North America,
1:39.1	there is no single-use plastic at any resort dining outlet, and in the summertime, they operate 100%
1:45.5	on daytime solar.
1:47.5	Taos really captures the essence of skiing.
