The ICO has released a new report on the use of mobile phone data extraction practices by UK police forces.

Worryingly, the ICO's investigation found inconsistencies in police data extraction practices

as they vary across the country.

The report stated there is an excessive amount of personal data often being extracted

and stored without an appropriate legal basis. Saturday, the 20th of June 2020.

Australia is currently the target of a sophisticated cyber attack.

An unnamed foreign government is behind it, which has been speculated as China.

Scott Morrison, the country's prime minister, says the attack has targeted all levels of the government,

as well as political organisations, essential service providers and operators of other critical natural infrastructure.

Businesses and organisations in Australia are being urged to ensure any web or email servers are fully updated with the latest software and that they use multi-factor authentication. Sunday, the 21st of June 2020.

Zoom, the popular video conference and application, has become the tool of choice

as companies operate remotely. With its explosion in popularity, it is also revealed a host of privacy

issues. The app has come under a storm of criticism after several flaws in its security were laid

bare in recent weeks, forcing the company to freeze

all product development until security issues with its software were improved.

Zoom CEO Eric One has issued a public apology. Monday the 22nd of June 2020. Companies are enforcing their own contact tracing apps.

Tech Titans don't have the monopoly on contact tracing applications.

Companies have been developing their own to keep tabs on employees in the new frontline fight against coronavirus.
