For the podcast, we give you a concise overview on some of the stories we highlighted during the week. This week we are covering the 5th of June to the 11th of June 2020.

Friday the 5th of June 2020. We reported a story on the Belgian Data Protection Authority

finding a non-profit organisation €1,000. The decision came following a complaint from an

individual that had objected to the processing of his contact details for direct marketing purposes.

The data subject had requested that the organisation erases data from its database,

but continued to receive marketing mails, hence the fine. Saturday the 6 June 2020. Last month the major government contractor Serco suffered a data breach

which accidentally shared hundreds of coronavirus contact

tracers email addresses the error appears to be a failure to use the BCC email

function the same error that led to the email of EU settlement scheme applicants

and windrush victims being led by the Home Office last year The Department for Health and Social Care has since done an investigation into Circo

and are now satisfied that the issues have been resolved. Sunday, December 10th of June 2020.

Black Lives Matter activists are being targeted by cyber attacks.
