Summary

Mike breaks down the recent US Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade. We discuss the impact of Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, the role of due process in granting rights, and the similar decisions that are now at risk: Lawrence v. Texas, Griswold v. Connecticut, Obergefell v. Oh, no, Kyle. It happened again. What happened, Mike? Shrinkage. Oh, no. I'm Mike Johnson. I'm Kyle Guetz. This is Gaysh.

We have to talk about Roe v. Wade Kyle. Yeah. And I want to do a couple of things with this.

0:19.2

First, I want to make space for the whole thing. But also, I want to sort of explain to,

0:25.4

especially our international listeners, what's actually happening and what happens next. Because I

0:31.2

think if my conversations have shown me anything, it's that there are lots and lots of people

0:36.0

in this country, much less outside of it, who don't understand the civics and the process behind

0:41.3

what's what's happening. So you majored in civics and process, right?

0:46.9

It's your as a technical major. I have a degree. I have a bachelor's degree in government,

1:43.3

eliminated in some cases in a great many states. By some counts, 26 states are either already

1:51.1

restricting abortion access or will be in the very near future. This is one of those interesting

1:56.4

times where I think a lot about, you know, okay, we go through the process of there's a new federal

2:00.7

law or ruling or whatever. Who goes back and then updates their thing to remove it or, you know,

2:07.0

okay, this is now illegal. Let me move. This is one of those weird cases where now it's like,

2:10.4

oh, wait, what do the states have on the books about their own abortion law? Yep. That'll be

2:15.7

interesting to see like what states currently have on the books, even if it was technically
