actually all begin for you with the carp fishing uh i was born and raised on a in a little tiny village

and my grandparents had a little farm pond so to keep me out of trouble you know like a lot of

and uh yeah we i just spent on my summer all the day sort of fishing and fishing for cruisans and

stuff and living where i lived there was a few nice ponds in the area and it was sort of just all

went from that one little pond really and anywhere i could bike to that had a you know had a carp in

there i'd get my rods on my bike and I'd go

how big of an influence on your cart fishing was Joe Taylor, a giant of a figure in the tackle industry?

Oh, I've got a lot to thank Joe for. He was, you know, he, the canal in Holland was the 20 Canal.

It was very famous in the 80s. And when I went into the tackle shop one day and said, well, Joe, I've had enough of Clayton Lake. You know, I'd like to go and have a go somewhere else. Where can I go? And the first thing he said was, you should go and have a go on the canals. So a lot of time had passed since Joe had been there. And a lot had happened to the canals, but it still contains a really nice cup.
