11 years ago, my dad called a family meeting.

And. go, my dad called a family meeting. And we were living in Louisiana, and I was a teenager, and my dad called a family meeting.

Now, I don't know if family meetings meant for your family when you grew up, but this is

typically not good news.

We went down to the living room room and my dad said, hey, I don't know what it is, but I feel like

the Lord is calling our family to move to Texas to be a part of this church called Gateway Church.

We left that family meeting. We packed up a U-Haul. True story. We put Gateway Church in a GPS.

We drove down 1-14, 3 and a half hours away from our home. We drove here. We found the nearest hotel.

My family went and parked a U-Haul outside of the hotel about five

minutes away from here. I don't remember much about that hotel except the people below us

were smoking and we couldn't breathe. We attended our first service. We sat up here at

South Lake on the wing. And this place shaped me. I learned how to worship here.

I learned about the Holy Spirit here. When I turned 18, I got my first job.

I found out what taxes and tithing was on the same paycheck,

and it almost brought me to my knees.

But not just here at South Lake at all of our campuses.

My family went to NRH and got planted at our NRH campus.

My brother, to this day, is a deacon at the NRH campus.

My nephew, Judah, he's six years old.
