When last we left the runaways, Apex the Wildman, Louise the scavenger, Alvin the mechanic,

and Cynthia the nurse.

They had set off from the Jefferson Barracks in search of equipment left behind

by Apex and Bruce's parents near the Missouri Botanical Gardens. They had a few discussions

about the state of the wasteland before eventually running across a group of white brazers who were harrying some individuals in front of the garden gates.

After a long and hard fight, the groups suffered minimal casualties, and they were invited inside with a matriarch of the gardens known only as Babushka.

Cynthia went to work tending to the wounded after, And after the last gardener was stabilized,

Babushka led the runaways deeper into the gardens,

where they saw verdant green vines growing out of one of the buildings.

This sort of glass roofed building

is decorated in all sorts of different types of flora. The most prominent being these thin green ropey vines that sort of purvey the entirety of the

room that you're in here. Apex is still in awe of all of this,

and I believe his first words just kind of like out of his mouth

were, you got it to work.
