When last we left most of the runaways, Apex the Wildman, Alvin the mechanic and Louise

the scavenger, they began exploring the mysterious interior of the magic house, leisurely perusing

various stations of which they learned some magic.

After mastering the secret art of touching a bubble without popping it, they sought out

the hair-raising mystical artifact in the attic, encountering a vantigraph generator and

returning it to an operational state, Apex sought to take the power onto himself, but

cooler heads prevailed and he did not give in to the temptation.

However, the noise the machine made attracted a super mutant, which Johann tried to reason

with, with poor results.

After a brief scuffle, which almost cost Alvin his ribs, the group traveled further into

the museum a bit more cautiously this time.

Johann convinced another super mutant to take him to his leader, which he did, but there

he saw horrifying scene, a blood-spattered miniature village ruled by the super mutant mastermind

Magruder.

Testing to see if Johann would kill a human, Magruder thrust a brotherhood of steel scribe

in front of the group and ordered the gentle giant to kill him.

After refusing the mastermind, then armed the scribe with a shotgun and told him he could

earn his freedom.
