With Chris Gasper, we spent the first two hours plus talking Celtics.

We wanted to switch gears a little bit with the Patriots getting back on the field this week for OTAs.

Our first look up close at Mack Jones and the QB competition that's going on there.

Chris, what were your kind of takeaways from this week and what you saw from the quarterbacks?

Yeah, my takeaway is that maybe Mack Jones is a little bit closer than we think,

just based on what Hunter Henry and Kendrick Bourne had to say.

He's made an impression on the veteran guys, and Bourne talked about him having sort of a swagger to him.

Hunter Henry said he'd done a great job.

In terms of overtaking Cam Newton, I feel like half the battle for Mac Jones is to be able to earn the respect of the veteran guys that maybe have some allegiance to Cam. Now, look, those two guys I mentioned, I don't know how much allegiance they have to Cam because they just got to the team. And Belichick backed up the Brinks truck for him.

So they're just going to do whatever Belichick says. He has to win over Belichick, obviously, Mac Jones does. But to be able to win over veteran teammates, I think that that's a good sign so far. Yeah, it's interesting too, because I wonder where Belichick's head is at with everything. when the practice first opened up, Belichick was, I mean, essentially holding hands with Cam Newton.

And I don't think that was, you know, an accident in terms of kind of the relationship there. So I do think, you know, Bill is going out of his way to make sure that Cam is viewed as the starting quarterback of this team.
