Today on Roon Soup, we welcome back the one and only Gary Luckman. Gary is the author of several of my favorite books, including the quest for Hermes Trismagistus.

He joins us today to speak about his latest book, Beyond the Robot, as well as the subject of it,

British author and philosopher Colin Wilson.

It's a pleasure to be on Gordon, thanks for having me. Oh it's yeah always

a pleasure in this side of things too. Now congratulations on the new book. Yes, yes, what can I say?

It's, well, as I'm sure you'll say at some point, but beyond the robot, the life and work of Colin Wilson.

In a way, it's something that I've been waiting 40 years to write.

I think you can tell I think you can very much tell and it's been interesting to read through it and

kind of retroactively look at your own back catalog and go, ah, that's, uh, I can see the

influences weaving in and out of your own output.

Hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm.

Well, yeah, I mean, I don't think I've made a secret that I've been an

influencer fan of Colin Wilson's work and I think pretty much from you know that my earliest writing so

I've sort of said it I've been you know I've read I've written articles and book

reviews and done interviews with him but this is the first sort of full on you know

exploration and exposition of his ideas and and his life and just obviously say who he is I mean you probably know but

you tuned into this this broadcast but you know column Wilson came to fame in

1956 60 years ago, publication of his first book, The Outsider,
