And today, I am pleased to introduce to you the great Gary Shandling, who is not just one of the greats of his time, but a truly

innovative guy.

And I knew his impact and comedy for a long time.

I knew his voice.

I mean, I meant his name forever.

But when I was a kid, I thought of him almost as like a poor man Seinfeld.

And then the more I've learned about him over the years,

and especially with this Jed Apatow documentary

that will probably reference it through a few times throughout the show,

you realize this is one of the most innovative guys,

not even necessarily in stand-up, but in television history.
